The Pathfinders Earn Three Nominations in 2008 Diamond Awards

GASTONIA, N.C. – The Pathfinders have earned their first three Diamond Award nominations.

The Pathfinders have been nominated for Album of the Year for the critically acclaimed Mercy Answered release. In addition, the group earned a nomination for the Sunrise Award – an award that honors the top new artists in the industry.

Also, group member Brian Dockins received a nomination for the Living Legend Award.

Dawn McGuire of The Pathfinders said, “We were so excited just to make the Top 10 in several categories! Now to officially be nominated in three categories is such an honor! Thank you to all of our fans for nominating us! We are humbled by these nominations.”

The 2008 SGN Scoops’ Diamond Awards will take place on Friday, September 12, in Louisville, Kentucky during the week of the National Quartet Convention. The 2008 awards program will once again be hosted by two of Southern Gospel’s most beloved faces – Karen Peck Gooch (of Karen Peck & New River) and Johnathan Bond (of Young Harmony).

Southern Spin Entertainment Artists Make Big Showing on Diamond Awards Top 10 Ballot

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - Southern Spin Entertaintment artists garnered an impressive 16 nominations on the Diamond Awards Top 10 ballot.

"We are so excited that our artists are gaining notoriety among the fans," mentioned Amy Marie Unthank, administrator of SSE Group, Inc., parent company of Southern Spin Entertainment. "We are so proud of all of our artists and the work they do."

The Pathfinders earned seven nominations including Trio of the Year, Sunrise Award, Song of the Year (for "I Don’t Sail Alone"), and Album of the Year (for Mercy Answered). In addition, all three members received individual nominations. Dawn McGuire is nodded for Female Vocalist of the Year, and Dearl Lemons is up for Male Vocalist of the Year. Brian Dockins is nominated in the Living Legend category.

Top 10 Ballot Now Available for SGN Scoops Diamond Awards

The Pathfinders Score First Charting Song from Mercy Answered

GASTONIA, NC - The Pathfinders were recently greeted with news that their debut single from their latest acclaimed release recently broke two major Southern Gospel charts.

The debut single, "I Don’t Sail Alone", debuted at #72 on the upcoming April 2008 issue of the Singing News Magazine Top 80 chart. In addition, the song also debuted this week on the SoGospelNews.com Top 40 Weekly Chart at #38.

"We are so excited that radio has picked up on our song like this," mentioned Dearl Lemons of The Pathfinders. "We really feel like it’s a fantastic song, and we knew that radio would love it!"

The Pathfinders and Trinity Quartet to Host Carolina Showcase During Week of NQC

GASTONIA, N.C. – The Pathfinders are proud to announce that they will be co-hosting the Carolina Showcase during the week of the National Quartet Convention along with the Trinity Quartet.

The first ever Carolina Showcase will take place on Wednesday, September 12, 2007 in the Mary Room of the Executive Inn West. The showcase will begin at 1:00 p.m.

The Carolina Showcase will feature performances from host groups The Pathfinders and Trinity Quartet as well as Driven, Called Out Quartet, the Gospelaires, Unity, and Providence Quartet. Danny Funderburk will be emceeing the showcase.

“We are very excited to share the stage with these folks and want everybody to come that can make it,” mentioned Dearl Lemons of The Pathfinders.

Both The Pathfinders and Trinity Quartet will be debuting music from their newest recordings, which will be available at the National Quartet Convention.

The Pathfinders Record Vocals for New Album!

GASTONIA, N.C. – The Pathfinders were recently at GAT3 Studios in Charlotte, North Carolina finishing up vocals on their newest recording.

Tentatively titled Mercy Answered, the new album is being produced by Brad Hudson (The Greenes). The recording was engineered by Glenn Tabor. Vocals were arranged by Kevin Stokes and Richard Putnam.

Mercy Answered will feature 15 brand new songs from the popular trio. The recording includes new songs from some of the industry’s most recognized songwriters including Jimmy Dooley, Daryl Williams, Beverly Sapp, John Robinson, Thomas Hinton, Richard Calhoun, and many more.

The Pathfinders Announce New, Fully-Updated Website

GASTONIA, N.C. – The Pathfinders are proud to announce the launching of the group’s new, fully-updated website. The new site went live a few weeks ago and was designed by the staff of SSE Design Group, the web publishing and internet promotions division of SSE Group.

The Pathfinders Renew Contract with Southern Spin Entertainment

GASTONIA, N.C. – The Pathfinders, one of Southern Gospel’s rising talents, have just renewed their contract with Southern Spin Entertainment. The group has signed on for another year of exclusive publicity from the organization. The group will continue to have access to all media publications serviced by Southern Spin Entertainment, as well as marketing possibilities with the organization. In addition, SSE Design Group has taken over all web publishing for the group. The group’s new website will be completed in the next couple of weeks.
